For the few days following your root canal procedure, you may experience some soreness. Avoid chewing on the side of the mouth where the treated tooth is located so that the area does not become irritated. This also ensures that the temporary restorative material on the tooth sets properly. The dentist will prescribe an antibiotic to treat any remaining infection in the mouth or tooth. Please remember to take the medication as prescribed. If you experience increasing tenderness or pain, have an adverse reaction to the medication, or if your temporary restoration (filling) falls out, please call our office immediately.
